I did it. I finally read Foundation. I understand why it is a venerable science-fiction classic. Does that mean it’s an enjoyable read?
I love getting lost inside the world of a good book. Nowadays you can travel to any number of universes from your phone or tablet. Still, every now and again, I’ll get a physical copy. It’s nice to hold a book and get that distinct book scent wafting up at you. Here are some of the books I’ve read as of late.

A small village in the countryside of Post-WWII England with an American movie star thrown in the mix, The Jane Austen Society has my attention.
A Place for Us isn’t the kind of book that will keep you up all hours of the night while you deceive yourself into thinking you’ll just read one more chapter.
The Giver of Stars tells the story of a traveling library. Jojo Moyes beautifully weaves a tale of the land and the people of Baileyville, KY.
The Midnight Library spans genres of literary fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy. And Matt Haig’s mirthful melancholic prose is exactly right for the story of protagonist Nora.
Christie’s most popular recurring sleuths are Poirot and Miss Marple. But she also wrote 25 stories with Tommy and Tuppence. A witty couple connected to the upper crust. Sort of a British version of Nick and Nora from The Thin Man movies. Here’s my review of their debut appearance, The Secret Adversary.
Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie is a character-driven, nuanced political and family drama. With Britain and two families at the center of a far-reaching web.
Book review of The Princess Bride. Published long before it became a cult-classic film, keep reading to see how they compare.
Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam is getting alot of media buzz from the likes of NPR and Read with Jenna. Is it buzzworthy? Keep reading
Unfortunately, I don’t recommend In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. Want to know why that is, and which I do recommend? Keep reading.
